My work for this Art Trail will be predominantly charcoal drawings, I enjoy painting and drawing wildlife and pet portraits, both in charcoal and watercolour. I have exhibited at several local galleries and am excited to be exhibiting at the International Watercolour Masters Exhibition at Lilleshall Hall this year in May. Miniature paintings is another passion of mine as I am a member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists and have shown my work at the Bankside Gallery in London.
Susan’s artistic practice works across glass, ceramics, printmaking, and painting, with screen printing serving as a central method for extending ideas across diverse materials. Drawing inspiration from local history, memory, and the relationship between people and place, their layered processes explore how past and present intertwine. Recent projects include site specific pieces using screen printing with glass enamel, printing onto porcelain, and hand‑painted stained glass, reflecting an ongoing interest in how art can illuminate humanity’s fractured connection with nature while inviting reflection on the world around us.
I am self-taught artist based in the English town of Bridgnorth, I have spent over thirty years in the design and publishing industry. Having always nurtured a strong attachment to Fine Arts, and even as a child, he tried his hand at drawing and began his first personal forays into shapes and colours. Later, I regularly attended exhibitions and places of art in his region. I am a passionate person and over the past twenty years, have never missed a chance to document and study numerous styles and different techniques within the Fine Arts. Drawing from all of these resources to enhance his own practice. This long learning effort has today granted me the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm to my students.
Bridgnorth ClayPlayers are a group of friends, meeting once a week to make sculptures and ceramics. Some of our group have considerable expertise, and can give guidance to the less experienced. We work in clay, wood, stone, and plaster, some pieces are jewellery, some are large and meant for the garden.
I’m an artist working with painting, print and textiles from my studio in Shropshire, UK. I love to layer and combine techniques, often mixing drawing and painting with densely worked stitch. I spend a lot of time working in sketchbooks, drawing and gathering information for my work. My work is inspired by the immediate world around me, the people and places I’m familiar with.
Jill creates contemporary studio glass; unique pieces often exploiting the bold colours & visual properties of glass. “My style is usually informed by a geometric, balanced, aesthetic and the ‘tapestry’ technique, which I love, has underpinned my work for some time. It also allows me to explore almost endless colour combinations; from tonal variations to striking opposites.” “I’m currently experimenting with 3-dimensional fusing and hand manipulation of fused glass. The resulting shapes are by nature of the process, bold & organic, and I’m excited to add this hands-on ‘twist’ to my work.” Jill works from a studio at her home and has been running workshops in Shropshire and beyond for 10 years. She is a long standing member of Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft and the Contemporary Glass Society
I create illustrative artwork, limited edition linoprints and mixed media work – inspired by nature and landscape. My range of cards, handmade lanterns, giftware and stationery is currently stocked in galleries across Shropshire.
Jo Scotford Cyanotype Art is a small creative studio based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, producing handcrafted cyanotype artwork and textile homeware.
All work is designed and made in Bridgnorth using traditional cyanotype printing methods. Original compositions are created from botanical arrangements, hand-drawn artwork, photographic negatives, and direct plant forms. Prints are exposed with UV light, then washed and toned to produce a distinctive muted palette. This toning process moves away from the usual bright blue, resulting in subtle, home-friendly finishes.
Our core product range includes hand-printed textile lighting such as lampshades and lanterns, night lights and small decorative lighting pieces, greeting cards, and limited-run seasonal items produced in small batches.
All stages of printing, toning, cutting, mounting, and assembly are carried out in-house. We prioritise quality materials and careful finishing over volume production. Products are intentionally made in small quantities to maintain originality and consistency.
The work is influenced by nature, traditional printmaking, and heritage photographic processes, with an emphasis on calm, timeless design
