I seek to take notice of the ordinary and extraordinary in our world and try and represent a different visual perspective.
I generally work in themes. These themes may focus on what we often see as beautiful (eg. the cosmos, trees, woodlands etc) or focus on the beauty of the unusual (e.g rust patterns, colour of fuel spillage, mineral structure etc) I mainly produce abstracted textile pieces which are constructed using a variety of materials-wool, silk, cotton, teabag paper. These piece are often based on my photographic images.
In addition, I may produce more representational pieces from my photographic images and use experimental techniques of printing and stitching to produce a final altered image.
