Bridgnorth-based printmaker Julia Timmins creates richly detailed prints that invite close looking and quiet discovery. Working primarily in wood engraving—a precise and expressive form of relief printmaking—she also produces linocuts and drypoint prints, each marked by a deep sensitivity to texture and line.
Julia’s work seeks to capture a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world, revealing beauty through intricate detail and carefully observed surfaces. Her practice is continually inspired by her garden and the surrounding Shropshire countryside, where ancient woodland, vibrant meadows, abundant wildlife, and a wealth of historic sites provide endless source material.
Julia is an elected member and Chair of the Society of Wood Engravers and exhibits regularly throughout the UK and internationally. Her work is held in public and private collections in the UK and abroad.
