Julia Timmins

Ancient TidesAutumn SeedsJulia Timmins is an artist and printmaker who lives and works near to Bridgnorth. She primarily creates wood engravings, linocuts and dry point prints. Wood engraving is a centuries old technique for relief print making. The designs are engraved onto end grain boxwood or lemonwood which allows Julia to achieve a fine level of detail in her prints. Traditional, finely pointed tools are used to engrave the block which is then carefully inked, and a print is taken from the surface. Julia draws her inspiration from the local area, she loves to work from natural forms, plants, flowers and birds and is continually inspired by her garden and the surrounding Shropshire countryside. Julia is an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers, a member of Mid Shropshire Artists Open Studios and a member of Wolverhampton Society of Artists
