I have been making lace since 1981. I specialise in bobbin lace although I have done various types of needle lace and tatting. I do Torchon which is made in many countries and is regarded as a good type for beginners. I also do Bedfordshire and Bucks Point which are traditional English laces. For the last two years I have been learning Milanese , which as the name suggests, is an Italian Lace. I am finding it challenging but very rewarding. I use the traditional white and ecru threads but also like to work in colour. I like to do wall hangings, framed work and fans as well as the usual bookmarks and handkerchiefs.
